Infrastructure investments and services supported
In December 2023, the 6th Materiality Study was carried out (see Chapter Sustainable Development / Double Materiality Study. Such approaches, as well as quantitative and/or qualitative surveys, implemented in local communities (Company Reputation Monitor) are used to identify investments in infrastructure and other actions that benefit local communities. All projects are carried out in consultation with local communities. Examples include:
Greece:
- Heating oil donation to the largest public pediatric hospitals and units in Attica: “Aghia Sophia”, “Panagiotis and Aglaia Kyriakou”, Penteli Children’s Hospital (budget forecast €611,600)
- Heating oil to schools of the neighboring municipalities of Thriasio & West Thessaloniki (€347,398)
- Heating oil and transport fuel to institutions and organizations carrying out social work (€81,495)
- Donation of an isobox for conducting examinations at the Thriasio General Hospital (€17,100)
- Coverage of needs for the construction and equipment of the new Neuromuscular Diseases Unit for adults, which is being installed at the Latsio Burn Centre within the Thriasio General Hospital of Elefsina (€10,000)
- Donation of asphalt to the municipalities of Megara and Elefsina (€146,733)
- Fuel for the fire-fighting vehicles of voluntary organizations (€21,390)
- Implementation of erosion control works in the affected areas of West Attica (budget forecast €1,458,770)
- Reforestation program in the Municipality of Penteli (budget forecast €151.006)
- Maintenance and renovation works for the Hellenic Red Cross shelter for vulnerable women “Ramona” (€22,320)
- Support to police forces (€41,141)
Cyprus:
- Heating oil donation program to 14 institutions in mountainous areas and to Makario Hospital (€190,000)
Republic of North Macedonia:
- Installation of 3 photovoltaic systems on school rooftops in three different municipalities, with a total installed capacity of 57.3kW (€40,209)
- Installation of a solar charger and parking space for electric bikes and scooters at the Skopje Campus (€17,578)
